Suzanne and Toby are working on being able to pass by a person on a walk without exploding. They walked in a diamond-shaped pattern with Shelly. They started at opposite ends of a field, walked toward each other but walked a wide path as they approached, and then moved back in toward center after they passed. After several of these ‘diamond passes’, Toby was then allowed to turn and follow Shelly and eat treats from her hand as they walked. This is a special treat for him, and one that took two years to accomplish!

Lexi has come so far with all of her reactive dog issues. She’s been reactive to people and to dogs. Her main challenge comes in the form of going for peoples’ feet as they walk. Here, we are rewarding an alternative behavior to focusing on feet; we are clicking and treating when Lexi looks up at the person who is approaching. We don’t need her to look at their faces, per se; we just need her to look at the upper part of their bodies.
Lexi is a quick learner!
